    STORIA DELLA CANZONE:
    l’autore del brano, il dottor C. H. Tindley, è stato il fondatore della Tindley Methodist Church di Philadelphia. Esso compose “Stand by me” nel 1905.
    La prima registrazione risale al 1939 da parte del Norfolk Jazz & Jubilee Quartets.
    Esiste anche una registrazione informale di Elvis dell’aprile 1959 effettuata nella casa dove alloggiava durante il servizio militare a Bad Nauheim ma essa è ancora inedita.
